Important Announcement Regarding Annual Show
We are delighted to report that we have been offered the opportunity to take over the Blindley Heath Country Show which has been run successfully for the past 11 years by Graham Page and his team at Osney Lodge Farm.
SESHA Heavy Horse and Country Show has been growing from strength to strength each year and the Committee see this as a great step forward which can only benefit SESHA’s aims and objects (as a registered Charity,) of promoting the Shire Horse.
The amalgamation of the two shows will without any doubt result in a larger event incorporating all the rural traditions and countryside activities which, together with the heavy horses, vintage tractors, historic vehicles, etc. will create two full days of interest and provide something for all the family to enjoy.
The Show will be known as The Blindley Heath Heavy Horse & Country Show and will continue to be organized on behalf of SESHA by Jackie Shearman, Show Secretary and her team. The date will be 30th April and 1st May 2017 (the first May Bank Holiday Sunday & Monday). The venue will remain at East Bysshe Showground on the A22 between Blindley Heath and Newchapel. Trade exhibitors’ information will be available shortly and the 2017 Schedule for competitors will be circulated in January. We will of course be writing to all sponsors and members will be receiving a Newsletter within the next few weeks.
These are exciting times ahead and we sincerely hope that you will want to remain part of our Show your support is essential for the continued success of the Show. All relevant information will be published shortly on the merged websites – we will keep you advised of progress. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

30th April & 1st May 2017
East Bysshe Showground, Eastbourne Road, Blindley Heath, Surrey RH7 6LF
The Blindley Heath Heavy Horse and Country Show is one of the biggest Heavy and Working Horse shows in the South East, it takes place at the East Bysshe Showground, RH7 6LF on the A22. This year’s show is shaping up to be the best yet, with a fully packed programme over 2 days.
Sunday sees the Magnificent Working Heavy Horses demonstrating their skills. See the sheer muscle power of these gentle giants as they harrow the land, using traditional techniques. Their agility will also be put to the test in exciting timed trials, where horses pulling harrows weave through hazards and obstacles to compete to be the fastest.
Monday is showing day, where the horses get dressed up in their finery. The day includes: In-hand, Driven and Ridden Classes. The Mare and Foal Class is always popular with visitors, giving them the chance to see the progression from foals to fully grown horses. The Young Handlers class gives handlers aged 13 to 18 a chance to show off their skills. The Trade and Agricultural turnout includes Brewery Drays, Wagons and Tip Carts. All Class winners will then compete for the Supreme Champion of the Show, followed by a final Grand Parade.
